SAP NetWeaver with IDE, plugins, new standards

as SAP INFO tells us, the SAP NetWeaver, the new general integration product suite brings a general new integrated development environment (IDE) togehter with support for Java 2, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) v1.3 and of course Microsoft .NET (not to forget the non-mentioned “specific adapters” and of course Web Services (SOAP)) that this product brings with it…

This product brings hard competition to IBMs WebSphere with Crossworlds and of course the IBM IDEs aswell as Eclipse and other “third-party vendor compatible” tools.

The only problem they may face is the general knowhow-lack in the industry, or has anyone a donwload for the NetWeaver IDE for the millions of students and freelancers available? Generating a “proprietary” IDE for a general available technology might create narrow groups that could make business with that… SAP partners hiring Java coders etc… well.. not too bad idea at all…
