Longhorn programming model introduction

Longhorn for Developers – A Brief Introduction is a nice article explaining the programming model of upcoming Longhorn …

The pillars

  1. Longhorn SDK
  2. Avalon
  3. XAML
  4. Indigo
  5. WinFS

are outlined and explained in a brief way… interesting: all code written in Longhorn using Longhorn SDK is managed code and the operating system fully supports it without any additional installation.

Longhorn programming model introduction

help ! I am running Longhorn Build 4053. I've watched the MSDN demo video on writing C# with the CSC.EXE compiler (they were using 4051 in the free download from MSDN), but I just cannot get anything to work ! Can you tell me the fundamental way to get the CSC.EXE compiler to work and to be able to linkt he dll's to my EXE's ? (I've put all the folders with the dll's and CSC.EXE into my path, but still nothing works when I try the examples shown in the MSDN video). Please help ! thanks in advance for any tips ... :)

Regards,

Roy.
