Google's Site Flavored Search

Site-Flavored Google Search is the latest feature available for web masters.

Quote:
Want to offer your visitors search results that are tailored based on your site? With a few easy steps, you can customize search results based on the content of your website. Simply fill out a profile based on your site's content, generate the search box HTML, and then paste this HTML into your pages. Users who search from this search box will have the option to "flavor" their results based on the profile you've created.

This feature is the first results of the "Kaltix"-aquisition in last september, who are big in theming and context-sensitive search.

It looks like this "add themed search to my domain" is a great way for Google to find out what themes webmasters think their domains are about. As soon as this feature rolls out over the internet it will help Google improve it's content and theme related search options…

Seems like Google is ahead of other SEs again with this step.

Jeremy is also disappointed that he has to do all the categorization work … well – I guess Kaltix' theming algos need human inputs and it should help them big times… after all Adsense still fails some times – and some clicks by a human should be considererd more accurate than any statistical method (altough THAT is not Google'ish :-)
