CNET suggests that phishers are getting more automated, publishing new scam sites automatically – as the average phishing site only works for 6.4 days… WOW - 6.4 days chance for 0.1% of 1,000,000 spam mail adresses to answer still results in 1000 credit card numbers or whatever password the people type in at a site they don't know…
The group also found that 1,142 active phishing sites were reported in October, and that between July and October, the number of phishing sites grew by a monthly rate of 25 percent. Fraudsters hijacked 44 brands in that month, and six of those comprised the top 80 percent of phishing campaigns. The group also found one Web site that functioned for 31 days, but it added that 6.4 days was the average time a site stayed active.

I recently got to know, that there are even Phishing-Attacks for Austrian banks, altough the chance to reach customer's of a specific Austrian bank is light-years smaller than in other countries… 2 cases were reported and both stopped… and found faster because of TYPOs in the bank-name.. omg… :-)
