Oracle officially announced it's aquisition of Oblix – a creator of identity management solutions like Oblix SHAREid for cross-company user access (for Improved B2B Integration) or the more general Oblix COREid (formerly Oblix NetPoint) with a self contained solution for Web Single Sign On and Access Control, User, Group, and Organization Management, Workflow and User Provisioning, Reporting and Auditing and Password Management.

Oblix SHAREid is interesting because they provide an identity federation server that helps large corporations interact with business partners and customers, creating a central authentication point.

Oblix counts among its biggest clients American Airlines, British Airways, Cisco Systems Inc., Flextronics International Ltd., General Dynamics Corp., and General Motors Corp.

Oracle of course integrates this products into the Oracle 10G portal/server …
