Wordpress and Copperleaf photo blogging

I finally setup the Copperleaf photo blogger plugin after upgrading my travel report site to Wordpress 1.5.2 and gave it a new look & feel…

I still have 2 separate issues that somehow seem to derive from the conversion logic with im/gd2 … but I'm sure these can be fixed soon.

Problem 1:

  • the upload of an image of a size of 6meg or so fails, telling me

" is invalid. Only JPEGs are currently supported."

  • the pic is 4200 × 3600 stitched and saved from photoshop
  • the uncompressed size of the pic is 42 meg if that's important
  • the compressed size (jpg saved from PS) is 6400 kb

Problem 1b:

- the upload of an image coming directly from my ixus 750 (2304 × 3072) fails with the same problem

Problem 2: no mini-thumbs (70×50) with imagemagick

I also had some issues where some of the mini-thumbs (70×50) were not generated, but for the pics that work, I have them all now, since I switched from imageMagick to GD2

Pretty weird, eh?

I contacted the author of copperleaf already – let's see what happens …
