Drupal steep innovation curve - Google, IBM and other big Orgs use and support Drupal - reason #5 to use it!

This is another follow-up post in my "great reasons for Drupal"

And it's great seeing so many great supports like Google with the Summer of Code 2006 or BeOs / Haiku or the IBM developerWorks who said

Quote:

After reviewing numerous open source packages such as Typo3, Mambo, and the ever-hyped Ruby on Rails, they "decided to use Drupal", remarking that it "provided the right combination of framework and flexibility . . . to get the job done".

That's exactly how I felt after more than 1 year of CMS trial installations and testing other content management systems for my heavy requirements

You get a good feeling about the great company support if you look at the innovation rate how Projects like the Google SOC stomp out innovating software modules for Drupal.

Some great ones ready to go are

Drupal CCK – content construktion kit

Forms API 2.0

AJAX Form Creator

Content Recommendation engine – fancy Amazon like Slope-One algorithm to recommend content based on other user's behaviour.. haven't we all been dreaming of implementing such a tool?

Multi-Site Admin thru a XUL client

"Social Networking Analysis (SNA) Tool":http://drupal.org/node/60614

Unit test automation – unit testing is important… and costs time… Drupal is the first CMS that brings facilities for unit testing to it's huge developer base

The only problem is – how can you keep up with ALL those great innovations, test and learn about them and STILL implement them in projects? g I'd love to spend all day and night just playing with all of them…
