So while I am in the ReviewMe program for some time, several really weird orders came in since joining that I simply refused to for not adding any value to the site or my audience, but I think this review order by BizTech Magazine makes sense to you my readers as well as myself, as I never heard of that site / magazine before …

While this is definitely not the only small business technology magazine around, I immediately liked their fresh design and think it sticks out a bit, while adheres the common “online newspaper portal style” you find so often with bigger corporations.

Being a small biz myself I know the hassles of finding good and valid online product reviews that are NOT written for hardcore gamers and overclockers …

BizTech Mag covers things that I’m interested in as a business owner, like

• getting rid of the spamademic (did you ready my hassles with domainkeys BTW?)
• and even on image spam there’s something cool in it
• finding the perfect firewall in the $1k-2k range – tough I’m still not convinced you need a separate firewall appliance for 1-10 people… my LinkSys does so so
• reading about small biz strategies, covered my some empiric research like why do small businesses not start a blog which I found especially interesting… most of the entrants seems to be pretty realisitic in their expecations regarding being able to fill a company blog with relevant content

However what I’ve been misssing until now is any kind of coverage regarding the topics on webhosting and server-related stuff for Linux-flavored servers….

Frankly, most business that do business on the web run their stuff on Linux stuff and depend on the recommendations of their bad webhosting companies or even more horrible server management companies when it comes to making decisions for hardware, software, upgrades and even upgrades of PHP or other already existing system software …

I am missing all that covered in the BizTech mag, and tough the audience there might be windows backoffice oriented, I would wish for a “small internet business” magazine to be available somewhere, keeping some of those headaches mentioned above from me…

And you my readers know about all those headaches that the internet infrastructure I run puts upon me… where’s the online mag for that stuff?

Coming back to BizTech – what I would wish for is an own RSS feed on those email and spam topics… IMHO this is one of the most messed up topics in most publications, and also bizTech categorizes the email/spam issues as “e-business” or “security” – and I think both do NOT apply to spam per se… even my own blog with rathre low frequence has it’s own spam news and tips category – and so should BizTech.
