My Comment notify plugin I built for Drupal last summer is finally ready for the Drupal 5 version… just in time before the codefreeze for Drupal 6
I really hope I won’t take that long to port it to the 6.x version, but to be honest, I have no time to port my modules to the next major version if I haven’t even ported my own sites to the current major version. I still got a couple 4.x sites running… and in fact they are doing fine…
Anyways – the zip file with comment_notify 5.x is attached here, because
a) I didn’t have time to setup the 5.x version in the drupal CVS so far
b) I am not allowed to upload the zip to drupal.org anymore, just tar’s – and in fact i’m too lame to create a tar file WITHOUT all those CVS control files (control files of my local cvs excluded) ... dunno why drupal org disallows zip – I think it SUCKS big time!
Enjoy the new version and let me know what you think!

Success!
Hi Christoph,
I want to share my experience here and I found a minor bug. Okay, here we go:
- Downloaded and installed the module.
- When installing the patched comment.module:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ')' in /home/www/doc/14393/infopirate.org/www_drupal5/modules/comment/comment.module on line 349
- Tried without patched comment.module and emails are not send.
- Checked out the patched module and a added a ',' at the end of line 349
- Emails are send but variables are not replaced by their values:

Thanks for your feedback!
I forgot to add, that you need to run the update.php to migrate the mail text ...
I'm confused why the comment.module didnt work for you,
as I took the exact same version as it's running on this site.
I thought you took the .patch created by greggles on drupal.org
Thanks again for testing,
and please chime in HERE

with a +1 so we soon can get rid of patching comment.module
thanks!
No Patch
Nope, I used the version that is included in your ZIP file. No patch.
Where is the Drupal 4.7 plugin?
Hi, I've been searching high and low for the Drupal 4.7 version of this plugin. Can you point me to a zip please, as it really seems to be just the thing I need for my site - I am getting comment spam trapped, but not til after subscribers have been notified, so all my users are getting the spam, even if it's not appearing on my site!
Thanks, James
